Tues, Feb. 27 – Foundation Meeting and Potluck

Topic: Propagation

Presenter: Laura Westrup
Laura is an enthusiastic Dirt Works Nursery, Wednesday morning volunteer. Because of that great team she has learned about shrubs and perennials that do well in the Pacific Northwest. As a fairly recent Master Gardener (2015), she was inspired by a class that involved propagation. Having just built a greenhouse on her property she decided to experiment with cuttings. She will be discussing what she has picked up through hit-or-miss opportunities regarding planting medium, type of wood needed and when it is best to take the cuttings. This presentation will involve a short PowerPoint presentation and lots of hands on fun with many giveaways for all.

Time: Potluck at 6:00 – Please bring a dish to share and your own tableware (utensils/plates/cups).

Speaker starts at 7:00 pm.

Location: Thurston County Public Health Department, 412 Lilly Road NE, Olympia WA  98506

The Handicrafts committee will have some great items for sale, so bring your checkbooks!

Note:  The public is welcome – no preregistration is required. Admission is $5 for non-Foundation members, so feel free to invite your family, friends, and neighbors.
