Compost Bin Sales
Compost Bins are available for sale through MGFTC at http://www.compostbinsthurstoncounty.com/index.html or by calling (360) 481-4204 (between 8am and 10pm).
Through an agreement with the county, the bins are subsidized for Thurston County residents, thus resulting in a much lower cost. There is a limit of 3 bins per household per year.
Three types of bins are available currently:
- Biostack - mainly for garden and yard waste composting to produce 'black gold'.
- Earth Machine - mainly for garden and yard waste composting to produce 'black gold'.
- Green Cone (limited supplies) - food digester which can handle bones and fats (all kitchen wastes). There is no useable compost generated with this bin, but it does reduce waste sent to the landfill.
There are also accessories available on the website including a kitchen pail and compost thermometer.
