Description: Paula Finch Before/After Garden Tour
In keeping with the past two years of showing before and after gardens, Paula Finch will host a two session garden stroll showing some of the ways she and Rick control weeds, make paths, maintain roads, and arrange watering for their nine acre wooded property - a spring tour and a summer tour.
Their site was originally planted by a master landscaper from Chicago, and has some lovely exotic tree species. The Finches have owned this bluff property for the past thirty years, and have moved the original cottage, built a house out of cedar milled from the property, added vegetable and flower spots in sunny locations near the bluff, all the while trying maintain native species.
Part of the fun will be sharing the attempt of landscaping as a process of successes and failures, emphasizing gardening as a flexible and ever changing experience.
The tour is open to anyone and is free to MGFTC foundation members. For all others, there is a $5 fee. You can also join the foundation for $10 and have access to activities all year long!
