Scholarship

In an effort to support budding garden professionals in southern Washington, the Master Gardener Foundation of Thurston County (MGFTC) offers a scholarship through the Master Gardener Foundation of Washington State Van Bobbitt Scholarship.

The Master Gardener Foundation of Washington State offers one $1000 scholarship every year to a student who has been accepted by a recognized accredited college/university and who is planning a course of study in horticultural or related fields. High school seniors and other students of any age who are entering a college/university are eligible to apply.

Prospective students need to apply to their county Master Gardener Foundation.  Each county may recommend one qualified applicant for the statewide scholarship.

The requirements, application process, and award criteria for the Washington State Master Gardener Foundation scholarships are described in detail on the MGFWS website.

Applicants in Thurston County should submit their application materials to:
Master Gardener Scholarship Committee
5033 Harrison Ave. NW
Olympia, WA98502 MG

Check the MGFWS website for the deadline for submission.
A Thurston County scholarship committee will screen applicants and then forward the selected nominee’s package to the Master Gardener Foundation of Washington State Awards Committee for final selection.
