Fall Fundraiser

Successful 2020 Fall Fundraiser!

Over $2,100 was raised during the Foundation’s first ever virtual fundraiser, “Gardening Trivia with Marianne Binetti” held September 10.

Seventy-four registrants were entertained and educated by Marianne Binetti on tips and tricks for gardening through the seasons. President Barb Baker ensured the Zoom meeting logistics were handled smoothly.

Nine prize drawings were held and the Grand Prize winner was from Redmond. Prizes included donations from the Foundation’s own Handicraft Committee and Plant Sale Committee, as well as gardening books reviewed by Marianne Binetti, Corona tools, Osmocote fertilizer samples and a gift certificate from Windmill Gardens.

We appreciate everyone who participated to support our Foundation’s work.

Please support the Master Gardener Foundation of Thurston County (MGFTC) as we host our first virtual fundraiser. Join local gardening expert Marianne Binetti as she entertains and informs us with Gardening Trivia. This online event (via Zoom) begins at 6:30 p.m. and includes several door prize drawings.

A Grand Prize drawing will be held at the end of the presentation for a future private tour of Marianne Binetti’s garden for up to 10 people!

Last year the Foundation raised $56,596 from a variety of activities including the big Spring Plant Sale, Bloomin’ Bingo, and handi-craft/tools fundraising committees. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the 2020 Plant Sale and Bloomin’ Bingo to be cancelled.

Please support this new fundraiser to ensure the joys of gardening continue to be shared with our community!

Funds raised help support the three Thurston County Demonstration Gardens, a plant clinic providing gardening information to the public and training for certified Master Gardeners and Master Recycler Composters. Last year our volunteer workforce including 77 Master Gardeners and 42 Master Recycler Composters gave over 20,014 service hours towards our public outreach and community activities.
